Pix
A downloadable tool for Linux
Welcome to Pix, arguably the pinnacle of CLI pixel art tools!
Pix is a minimalist image editor meticulously designed for pixel art and 2D sprite editing, operating effortlessly in terminal emulators and in TTY interfaces. Pix is your streamlined command-line solution for crafting and editing pixel art. It’s stripped of unnecessary bloat while delivering essential features like line tool, mirroring and bucket fill and more. Pix is a groundbreaking tool for terminal-based pixel art creation in full color!
IMPORTANT NOTE This program has been tested on a Debian-based system using the KITTY terminal emulator. Due to differences in terminal settings, configurations, and distributions, some users may experience unexpected behavior. If you encounter any issues, please leave a comment on this page with details such as:
- Error messages
- The terminal emulator you're using
- Your system and distribution
- Any steps to reproduce the issue
While I can't guarantee it'll work flawlessly on every machine, your feedback will help me identify and address common issues. For the best appearance, I recommend using the Commodore C64 MONO font (or another monospaced font)—avoid non-mono fonts for optimal display.
Note: If your terminal uses a non-standard color palette, the pixel colors may not match as expected.
Thanks for your understanding and support!
