Devlog Update: What's New with My Projects

It’s been a while since I last worked on the game. Honestly, I almost shelved the project for the time being and decided to take a bit of a break. However, the game should still be fully playable! If you encounter any issues or bugs that prevent you from enjoying it, please let me know. I’d also love to hear any suggestions, no matter how small, that could make the game more fun. I might still revisit the project occasionally.

I still want to give gold a meaningful purpose in the game, and the idea of a war system update is something I think would be really cool. That said, I’ve been busy juggling a lot of other projects. One of my current focuses is a social media site, more details on that here: amosnimos.com.

Demonlord Ascension: Still Alive and Kicking

Back to the topic at hand: Demonlord Ascension! The game still averages about 20 players a day, far exceeding my expectations. Your dedication to grinding and playing is what keeps my interest in the project alive. You’re the reason why there might be more updates in the future!

So, the big question is: What level are you at? How many skills have you acquired? I’m curious, share screenshots of your progression! How much gold have you hoarded? Who’s the best player so far? And what’s the coolest skill you’ve discovered? Let me know!

Potential Update Ideas for Demonlord Ascension

Here are some ideas I’ve been considering for future updates:

  • Consistent attack animations that match the skills you use.
  • A war system with recruitments, soldiers who fight for you automatically, similar to auto-spells.
  • Idle progression while logged off. Although, is it really necessary? You could just leave the game running in the background!
  • Buying cooldown reductions with gold, so you can cast spells without waiting for the cooldown timer.
  • Skill merging, allowing you to combine skills for unique effects.

HERO RPG: The Remake

I’m also working on a remake of my masterpiece, HERO RPG. This time, I’m developing it in Picotron, as RPG Maker VX Ace was already outdated at the time I created the original game. Despite its limitations, VX Ace was instrumental in turning my vision into reality.

The downside is that the original game’s output format isn’t fully compatible with most modern systems without a bit of tinkering. A remake is necessary to ensure more people can enjoy the experience. You can still check out the original RPG Maker VX Ace project here: HERO RPG on Itch.io. It was built for Windows XP but can also run on Linux with Wine and some tweaking.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these ideas. Thanks for sticking with Demonlord Ascension and my other projects, your support keeps me motivated to keep creating!
